Juniors shine at championships

THEY may be small in numbers but Bellinger Valley-North Beach Surf Life Saving Club makes a valuable contribution to the community, as well as producing excellent results in competition.

North Beach juniors and nippers had a ball when they took part in the Stramit NSW Country Surf Life Saving Championships held at South West Rocks.

Ten competitors battled a huge swell and hot sand during the two days of competition to be ranked third in the North Coast Branch juniors behind Coffs Harbour and Sawtell.

“For a small club, Bellinger Valley-North Beach has a talented bunch of juniors who compete at a high level,” club captain Bree Rooney said proudly.

“All the members are so proud of the effort our juniors put in and we look forward to cheering them on again at tournaments and club championships.”

Rooney paid tribute to the juniors individually with many personal best results achieved.
