Coffs Showgirl event rewarding

COFFS Harbour Show Society is looking for girls to enter the 2010 Coffs Harbour Showgirl competition.

The competition is open to local girls between 18 and 24.

Not a beauty contest, the competition has no entry fee and does not require fundraising. It is held to find a representative of the regional city and the winner may go on to the Sydney Royal Easter Show for the judging of The Land NSW Showgirl.

The 2009 Coffs Harbour Showgirl, 22- year-old university student Jessica Wilson, who gave up riding at last year’s Show so she could enter the competition, said she had found it a very rewarding experience, building her confidence and making new friends.

Like Ms Wilson, 2010 Showgirl competition organiser Karen Luke became involved with the event because she had enjoyed the Coffs Harbour Show for many years and she was impressed with the interest, involvement and hard work of the Coffs Harbour Show Society members.

Entries close on April 30, judging will take place during the first week in May, and the winner and runner-up will be announced during the official opening of the Coffs Harbour Show on May 8.

The Show will be held on May 7, 8 and 9.
