Coffs Quilters have been in stitches

FABRIC has been flying, machines have been whirring and busy hands have been threading needles and sewing beads into place - all in preparation for the Coffs Quilters and Needlecraft Inc Annual Exhibition 2008.

There is only time for a few last minute stitches before the doors open at the Coffs Harbour Racing Club where more than 100 quilts as well as 100 handmade items, including textile art and needlework, will be on display.

During the three-day exhibition you can view silk painting demonstrations, learn how to make a fabric handbag or increase your knowledge about quilting at a free workshop.

Members of the quilting and needlecraft group will be on hand to answer questions.

It will also be a good opportunity to stock up your sewing box, as there will be traders selling needlework supplies.

The exhibition begins this Friday, and continues Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm daily. There is plenty of parking, disabled access and tickets are available at the door. Cost: adults $5, children $2.
