Coffs pair aim for blue ribbon

THINKING outside the vase will get Johanna Byrne and Jeanette Clewett the blue ribbon at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

The week-long show will host the live NSW Interflora Rising Stars floral arranging competition next weekend where the local girls will fly the Coffs Harbour flag.

“It’s like the Olympics for florists,” Mrs Byrne said.

Mrs Byrne and Miss Clewett are nervous about the event but know their creativity will serve them well.

The theme for this year is ‘winner’s circle’ and it was only yesterday they found out what flowers they can use.

Miss Clewett said she is thinking of a framing design for her creative offering.
