Slow down for highway upgrade

MOTORISTS on the Pacific Highway north of Coffs Harbour will have a new reduced speed zone for most of this week.

As part of work on the Sapphire to Woolgoolga highway upgrade, there will be a reduced speed zone on a short length of the highway near Bucca Road 9.30am to 6pm from today until Thursday, weather permitting, to allow worksite access for trucks.

Traffic control and reduced speed zones will also be in place between Korora and Emerald Beach to allow tree clearing next to the highway; to allow concrete traffic barriers to be put in place and road surface maintenance to be carried out from Tuesday to Thursday between 9.30am and 2.30pm.

On Thursday there will be traffic control in place between Emerald Beach and Woolgoolga for geotechnical investigation to take place next to the highway.

The road shoulder will be closed and a reduced speed zone will also be put in place.

There may be short delays for motorists during this work and the RTA is thanking motorists for their patience during this essential work.

For more information contact the RTA Traffic Information Line on 132 701 and for more details on the upgrade contact the project information line on 1800 636 363.
