Coffs’ newest apartment project keep a local flavour
CONSTRCTION is about to begin on Coffs Harbour's newest apartment complex, and it's keeping it's local flavour.
The Bachrach Naumburger Group's Seashells apartments at Park Beach will be built by local construction company FM Glenn.
The appointment of FM Glenn highlights a commitment to making the project one that involves and benefits Coffs Coast businesses.
Local architect Vil Birckman designed the building, local Real Estate Agents Nolan Partners are marketing the apartments, local engineers and project managers de Groot and Benson have been engaged as well as local interior design expert Nicolle Foster from Natural Habitat Interiors.
"The Group strives to support our region as it grows and thrives and sees Seashells as an extension of the existing investments here," General Manager of the Bachrach Naumburger Group Steve Gooley said.
"It's not the case of a development group coming to Coffs Harbour for a one-off project, bringing their own trades, selling off units and then leaving - quite the opposite in fact. The Bachrach Naumburger Group sees this development as a necessity for Coffs Harbour and looks forward to seeing it completed, lived in and enjoyed for many years to come."
Mr Gooley said FM Glenn and the Bachrach Naumburger Group have a rich and extensive history of working together.
"I know everyone is enormously keen to deliver this quality development," he said.
It's not only local businesses embracing the Seashells development. According to Nolan Partners Principal Scott Nolan, locals make up a large number of the buyers of the apartments, of which 60% have been sold off-the-plan.
Seashells features 44 apartments built over 12 storeys, with a combination of one, two, or three-bedroom apartments, four penthouses and two double storey skyhomes.
"A lot of locals are looking to downsize and obviously still want a good lifestyle," Mr Nolan said.
"There are a lot of young professionals in their mid-20s who are saying 'that's the lifestyle we want', a few buyers from the tablelands area like Armidale and Tamworth and enquiries from Sydney with a few buyers on board who are primarily investors, but most buyers are looking to to live in," he said.
"We're currently in negotiations with two parties on two of the penthouses which will set a new level of price for the Park Beach area if they come to fruition."
Mr Nolan said much of the project's appeal is that is a luxury building akin to high end projects seen in markets like Sydney and the Gold Coast's Main Beach.
Construction on Seashells will begin on July 18, with completion forecast for Easter 2018.
