Growing concern over hospital

THE pressure is building on the State government to provide adequate funds for Coffs Harbour Health Campus following growing community unrest.

In Monday's Advocate, we will reveal a series of alarming incidents recently that illustrate something is seriously wrong.

Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser has joined the growing chorus of discontent saying his office had “received numerous complaints from citizens who have been kept waiting for up to seven hours in the Emergency Department”.

“I have made representations to the North Coast Area Health Service (NCAHS) and the Health Minister, but to no avail,” he said.

“I have now received a leaked document from the Coffs Harbour Health Campus which clearly demonstrates that medical staffing needs to be increased by an additional 8.05 full-time equivalents to ‘achieve parity with our peer hospitals in the NCAHS', Mr Fraser said.
