Bad Pony rocks the school at Orara

COFFS Harbour's Orara High School played host to the prestigious Rock the School 2013 tour today.

The school's hall was transformed into a live music venue for a special lunchtime concert featuring Sydney band Bad Pony with a semi-trailer and technicians starting work at 8am.

As part of the tour, workshops were held throughout the day to put career opportunities in the music industry in the spotlight for students.

Rock the Schools bagan in 2006 as a seven week tour and has since expanded to a five month operation that visits 90 schools in every state.

The event aims to show students with musical aspirations that there are pathways to the industry that don't necessarily include hitting the big time with chart topping music.

It also highlights the myriad of support roles and other jobs in the music business.

From sound technicians to graphic designers and musos - Rock the Schools proves it isn't just about rock.
