Grieving family in need of support

WHILE they grieve his sudden loss, Matt Jeffries’ young family needs help.

His death from a tragic accident on Boambee Beach on Saturday has left a terrible void for his soul-mate Requal Moy and their children Riley, aged 20 months, and daughter Aaliyah, who was born only three weeks ago.

Requal isn’t sure how she’ll be able to pay funeral costs, so her friends have set up an appeal to help pay the bills, with many local residents and businesses already digging deep.

“Hopefully we’ll raise at least $4000 to help Requal and her children,” said family friend Angela Griffiths.

“I would like to give a big thank you to all the local businesses who have already donated. There are too many to mention.”

Angela has established a trust account for Matt’s Urunga-based family and has set up a Facebook page in his memory.

She’s also organised an online auction through Facebook and is co-ordinating a charity dinner to farewell Matt on November 16 at the Hoey Moey.

Angela can be contacted on 0413 834 899 or by email ripmatt@live.com.au.
