Coffs man faces murder charges

A MURDER case is before the courts in which a man was allegedly bashed to death with a baseball bat in a Coffs Harbour caravan park.

Shain Williams, 27, formerly of Vincent Street, is accused of killing a 59-year-old man by striking him multiple times with the bat.

Police allege the incident happened during a heated dispute at the Clog Barn Caravan Park in the early hours of October 23, last year.

A crime scene was established and detectives made an arrest more than six hours after the serious assault in south Coffs.

The victim later died of his injuries in Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital.

Williams is charged with murder and a lesser charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He has been remanded in custody to appear on December 14.
