The launch of the local Women On Boards chapter.

All aboard, ladies!

COFFS Harbour is now home to a branch of the group Women on Boards.

While Women on Boards (WOB) is a national organisation dedicated to growing the number of women on boards and committees, a large part of its work is dedicated to providing professional development and other support to help women build the skills and knowledge required to become effective and active members of boards.

Claire Braund, co-founder of WOB and a local herself, returned from setting up a WOB group in London to launch WOB Mid North Coast at the Bunker Gallery, thanks to the support of the Coffs Harbour City Council.

WOBMNC is an important opportunity for regional women to develop their skills, networks and experiences.

It will be working with local businesses and other organisations asking them to open their doors to women keen to contribute.

We will also be seeking mentors and people with expertise to run training in corporate governance, financial literacy and communication skills.

Meetings across the region will take place soon.
