Police in $25,000 drug haul

COFFS HARBOUR detectives have uncovered a treasure trove of illicit drugs with an estimated street value of $25,000 and charged a man with multiple offences.

An ongoing investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in the Coffs Harbour and Woolgoolga areas prompted detectives and Target Action Group officers to swoop on a Woolgoolga home at 11.30am on Tuesday.

As many as seven police were involved in the raid, which uncovered 45 grams of ecstasy powder, four grams of cocaine and 125 grams of cannabis.

Police arrested a man, 38, at the scene and took him to Coffs Harbour Police Station to be interviewed.

He was subsequently charged with four counts of supplying a prohibited drug (cocaine and ecstasy powder), three counts of possessing a prohibited drug (cocaine, ecstasy powder and cannabis) and one count of goods in custody (cash allegedly the proceeds of drug supply).

Police are delighted with the discovery and are continuing their inquiries.

“Police will allege the person involved has been involved in the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs in the area,” said Detective Senior Constable Dean Taylor.

“Police are pleased with the outcome so far of this ongoing investigation.”

If you suspect illegal drug activity in your neighbourhood, you are urged to contact Coffs Harbour police on 6652 0299 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
