Record crowds attend Coffs show

GLORIOUS weekend weather pushed visitor numbers at the 2010 Coffs Harbour 4WD Caravan, Camping and Boat Show into the stratosphere.

Show organiser Peter Grimmond said yesterday with close to 6000 people through the gate on Saturday he expected yesterday's crowd to equal that figure, creating a record for the annual event, now in its seventh year.

He was also happy with the results of dividing the show into different sections around a central hub for general exhibitors.

The change proved popular with both exhibitors and visitors who were able to make a beeline for caravans, campers, boats or 4WD vehicles.

“We went through the equivalent of two race days in the bistro,” said Coffs Harbour Racing Club events manager Simon Chladil. “I ran out of every bit of food – we were left with soft drinks and cappuccinos.”
