Coffs Harbour BRE news

THIS weekend is our July comp which is the first for the year so if you have been thinking of joining our club now is the best time to get involved as you get the full twelve comps to fish.

Sign on is from noon today with weigh in noon Sunday at the Deep Sea Fishing Club.

Species for this comp are bream, flathead, whiting, tailor, luderick with subs of jewfish and rock blackfish.

These species will be won on secret weights so no need to have the biggest fish just weigh in these species to be in with a chance.

I went down to Stuarts Point last Saturday fishing in the hope of catching a few Bream and Flathead on lures which turned out to be a fairly tough day with only a handful of fish caught.

But there are plenty of bream there to be caught of a night as four men that camped on the river bank had almost their bag limit each for the night.

Plenty of luderick are also pushing their way into the rivers so they will be worth a go if you can get the tides right.

There are also reports of tailor and jewfish around the headlands on pilchards and squid.

If you are interested in fishing our comps come along to the weigh in for further info.
