Yoga teacher hosts fundraiser

YOGA teacher Lisa Telford is spearheading a novel fundraiser for flood victims – free yoga classes starting on Sunday.

Instead of paying, those attending are asked to donate money; non-perishable food, pet food or toiletries to help people who have lost everything.

Ms Telford, who has friends who are members of SES units in affected areas, is offering the free one-hour yoga classes at Moonee Beach Hall at 3.30pm on January 16, January 23 and January 30.

Moonee Beach Caravan Park has donated the use of the hall for her classes, which she said would be suitable for all ages, all shapes and sizes, all body types and all levels of fitness.

Suggested payment items are canned food (with ring pull lids) toiletries (tooth paste/brushes, liquid soap, shampoo, hair brushes), dry cat and dog food, candles, batteries, torches, etc.

“It has been asked that we hold off on clothes and toys at this stage,” Ms Telford said.

All are welcome to attend the yoga classes or just drop off goods. Yoga mats will be supplied.
