Coffs facing hot opposition in pennant final

IF Coffs Harbour’s leading pennant golf team claims back-to-back Mid North Coast District titles tomorrow, it will have earned it.

Standing in the way between Coffs Harbour and victory is a Woolgoolga combination full of guns.

Led by the likes of reigning North Coast Amateur Open champion Logan Toms and Aaron Hart, Woolgoolga has the firepower to claim the title when tomorrow’s final tees off at Grafton.

The final has been a long time coming after originally being scheduled to be played on June 5.

Wild wet weather that weekend caused the postponement of the finals. A move which has only served to whet the appetite ahead of tomorrow’s event.

A Coffs Harbour team featuring Jack Pountney, Aden Louez, Tim Hyland and captain and current Mid North Coast champion Shane Cutmore could bring home one of two pennants for their club as Coffs Harbour is also in the Division 2 final where it will be facing Urunga.

Woolgoolga also has two teams in the finals with the Division 4 team facing Dorrigo.

The Division 3 final is expected to be a close encounter between Bellingen and Sawtell.
