Coffs Coastal Patrol called to rescue

THREE people in a five-metre Coffs Harbour runabout were towed back to Coffs Harbour by Coastal Patrol on Saturday morning after their boat developed mechanical trouble.

Coffs Harbour Coastal Patrol divisional commander Linda Jones said the runabout's skipper had logged on earlier to go fishing and they received a call at 9.45am on Saturday that the boat had broken down at Split Solitary Island.

The Coastal Patrol boat crew took rescue boat CR2 out to the stricken runabout, which had three people aboard and towed it back to the Coffs Harbour Boat Ramp.
