Coffs Coast welcomes the first day of winter
JOSIE Ward isn't going to let the arrival of winter stop her from staying fit.
The mum of two joined her Girlfit friends at North Wall at dawn yesterday to farewell autumn in energetic style.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology autumn 2013 was on track to be significantly drier than average until last Friday's massive dump of 280mm.
It took the rainfall for March, April and May to 600.5mm slightly up on the long term average of 573mm.
The outlook is for 65-70% chance of a wetter than average winter, with daytime temperatures on part but warmer than average nights.
