Mixed response to budget from Coffs

A SNAP poll of Coffs Coast locals yesterday about the impact of the Budget met with a mixed response.

Most older people were disappointed stating the Prime Minister had wasted too much money in 18 months.

The strongest opinion among the younger generation focused mainly on the lack of opportunity for the long term unemployed to break the cycle. They felt there was little opportunity to break out particularly given the economic gloom.

Small business owners said generally, it would be “business as usual” as the tax cuts offered lacked bite while there was no real stimulus to drive their micro-economies either. They did acknowledge that people have cut back on spending.
