Coffs Coast pulls tourists with big events
SHOWCASING the enormous variety of festivals, events and celebrations on the Coffs Coast in the lead-up to spring will be the major focus of a tourism campaign aimed at driving overnight visitation.
From the Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge to the Australian Festival of Surfing, to the International Buskers Festival, the National Off-Shore Super Powerboats and Rally Australia, we are in for a big run of major drawcard events.
"A blend of events that appeal to gourmands, adrenalin-seekers and culture buffs will be staged against the stunning backdrop of Coffs Coast," Coffs Coast marketing manager Nicole Moore said.
"To offer visitors the ultimate spring holiday - where memories are made, the region has come together to offer over 20 events, accommodation deals and flight specials for travel between July and October.
"For the year-ending December 2014, Coffs Coast received over 1.7 million domestic and international visitors, with festivals and events being an essential element to the regions diverse visitor appeal."
The national campaign valued at more than $500,000, warming up the end of winter and highlighting the spring season, is supported by Destination NSW, Wotif, Legendary Pacific Coast, Virgin Australia, Qantaslink and Tiger Air along with a spectacular line-up of events on the Coffs Coast.
