New generation takes to the stage

WHEN the Hot House party kicks off tonight at Club Coffs a new generation of young men will be on stage and backstage

The Hot House Party began in 1999, with organisers JLE adopting the policy of employing young DJs.

Eleven years later the trend continues with young DJs at the decks and young tech heads behind the scenes stepping into the shoes of their fathers who ‘got the party started’.

DJ Skribbel (aka Matt Logan) is set to mix up a storm and at just 15 already has heaps of experience. Matt’s father, John, began the event with partner and production manager Steve Douglass.

Steve’s son, Alex, is also stepping up. Alex has a natural aptitude for all things technical and will be on the lighting console and operating two computers.

Tonight’s emcee/compere Richard ‘Stubbsy’ Stubbs, pictured here with his son Holden, has agreed to help the boys out this weekend. He better watch his back, though, as Holden looks right at home ‘up front’ with a lanyard around his neck.

Junior Hot House begins 5pm and senior at 7.30pm.
