Bedside manner win for charity

THE Advocate has teamed up with Beds R Us to make Christmas much more comfortable for families in need.

Barrels at both businesses were overflowing with a whopping 249 entries in the special promotion, where Beds R Us pledged to give away 12 Sleepyhead queen mattresses.

All readers had to do was send in an entry form nominating which local charities they would like to see get a mattress in time to help those in need in our community.

Keith Hodgkinson, who is recovering from a serious motorbike accident, also gets a mattress. His inspirational path to recovery prompted his physiotherapy aide to nominate him for special consideration.

Two readers were even lucky enough to win a mattress each during the promotion. They are Lynette Bale and Michelle Morley, of Coffs Harbour.

“The Advocate and Beds R Us were thrilled with the overwhelming response to our giveaway and we were delighted to join forces to put a smile on the faces of those who need it most this Christmas,” said Jodie Crane, The Advocate’s sales and marketing executive.

“We would like to thank everyone who took part and nominated a charity of their choice.”
