Coffs CBD injury had alcohol as a contributing factor

A MAN was hospitalised with serious injuries following in incident in Coffs Harbour this morning.

Around 1am, it's believed the 35-year-old man became involved in an altercation which reached its peak near the taxi rank in Grafton Street.

It is believed alcohol contributed to the incident.

The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Health Campus to have his injuries assessed and later transported to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for more intensive treatment.

A police duty officer said no further details on his condition were available at this time.
