Coffs cakes on show

SWEET treats and good company will be on offer when the Coffs Coast District Cake and Sugar Artists Inc hold their annual demonstration day next month.

The club invites anyone with an interest in cake decorating to come along, whether to brush up on existing skills or discover an exciting art form.

"We'd love to have the general public there," member Carol Williams said.

"The event is open to anybody who has an interest in cake decorating."

The demonstration day will feature Lynn Flynn and Filomena Hart, who will be showcasing a range of techniques.

"They're going to be showing us how to make flowers out of icing," Ms Williams said.

"They're going to be doing two different sorts of flowers and two novelty items to use as cake toppers."

The group is always looking for new members.

"We try to improve the art of cake decorating by trying out new techniques and new ideas and sharing these with fellow cake decorators."

The demonstration day will be held at the Salvation Army Hall on Mastracolas Rd in Coffs Harbour from 9.30am on Saturday, September 12.

The cost for the day is $25 and includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch and lucky door prizes.

Register before September 5 by phoning Denise on 6652 3986.
