Coffs attractions shortlisted

TOURISM drawcards from across the Coffs Coast have been shortlisted for the 2015 North Coast Tourism Awards.

Coffs Harbour ties with Byron Bay for the greatest number of finalists in the annual awards which recognise the achievements of tourism hotspots on the Mid and North Coast.

North Coast Destination Network executive officer Belinda Novicky said many new nominees had made the 2015 shortlist.

"The variety of the new nominations is testimony to the selection of fabulous new product evolving across our region to meet the needs of our growing number of domestic and international visitors," she said.

Television personality Shelley Craft, who grew up in the Byron hinterland, will host the awards on August 14.

Destinations represented in the nominations include The Manning Valley, Great Lakes, Macleay Valley Coast, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley and Destination Tweed.

Best tourist attractions - Coffs Harbour Butterfly House, Sealy Lookout / Orara East State Forest

Best caravan and holiday park - North Coast Holiday Parks Corindi Beach, Park Beach Holiday Park

Best specialised tourism service - State Forests of the Coffs Coast
