Coffs are the champions

A CONVINCING six wicket victory on Sunday has seen Coffs Harbour once again named as the number one association on the North Coast.

Playing in the inter-district final at the Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park the first grade representative team simply outclassed their Clarence River opponents on the day.

Bowling first, Coffs Harbour bowled a tight line and applied plenty of pressure to dismiss the Grafton boys for 102.

Matt Francis, Kieran Hogan and Craig Haworth each collected two wickets.

In reply the Coffs Harbour batting line-up easily accumulated the required runs for the loss of only four wickets.

Adam Turner top scored with a score of 31 while Haworth played his role with the bat as well making 30 to claim the man of the match award.

Unfortunately the second XI couldn’t produce the same form against Clarence River and their total of 163 wasn’t enough to claim victory.
