Coast will be zapped

NORTH Coast residents will feel the full brunt of electricity price rises of up to 64 per cent, according to Cowper MP Luke Hartsuyker.

And Mr Luke Hartsuyker believes the forecast increase was a direct result of both Federal and State Labor government policies.

“Under Federal and State Labor a typical residential Country Energy customer will pay $918 more in 2013 if the ETS is implemented as planned or $601 more if the ETS is not implemented,” Mr Hartsuyker said.

“This is what Labor Governments do to average Australians. These rises will not only directly hit household budgets but they will drive up the cost of everything we buy.

“Small business will have no option but to pass on these prices.”
