Magpies coach looks for a full 80 minutes against Comets

FOR THE third straight match, Coffs Harbour coach Colin Speed will go into battle with an unchanged line-up on home soil tomorrow.

All five Group 2 rep players came through unscathed from Sunday's win over Group 11.

The Comets are in rare early season form and Bellinger Valley-Dorrigo coach Maurie Hulbert has no false illusions about the task faced by his Magpies on the visit to Geoff King Motors Oval.

"It's a pretty tough assignment but that should suit our boys," Hulbert said.

"The battles with Coffs are always good.

"Their defensive record is excellent and we haven't scored many points at all, so it takes the pressure off and gives us something to aim at."

In both starts so far, Bellingen has managed to stick with their rivals for the first half before being blown away at the back end.

"It will be easier once the boys understand it goes for 80 minutes and not just 40," the Magpies coach chuckled.

"We have plenty of players and while not all are stars, my job as a coach is to improve them and make sure they finish up better footballers than when they started.

"It's up to them to find the confidence they can all better themselves."
