Co-op hopes to land some glory

THE Coffs Harbour Fishermen's Co-operative has been announced as a finalist in the 2015 Seafood Excellence Awards to be held in Sydney tonight.

The Coffs Harbour Co-op is in the running for the Best Supplier in New South Wales award against Wallis Lake Fishermen's Co-operative (Newcastle/Great Lakes) and Commercial Fishermen's Co-operative (Newcastle).

The awards ceremony will be held at Sydney Seafood School, located at Sydney Fish Market, with many finalists attending for the much-anticipated announcement.

The Sydney Fish Market Seafood Excellence Awards recognise the hard-working men and women who provide Australians with the best-quality seafood.

The awards highlight sustainably harvested seafood while providing businesses with recognition as industry frontrunners.

There are nine award categories to be announced on the night, including Excellence in Environmental Practice, Best Supplier (NSW), Best Supplier (Interstate or Overseas), Best Seafood Retailer, the Seafood Business Award and the coveted Star of the Sea Award.

Back by popular demand, the People's Choice Awards were open to the general public to vote on three different sub-categories - Best Sydney Fish Market Seafood Retailer, Best Fish and Chips and Best Seafood Restaurant.
