Clinic run by baseball’s finest will help local juniors
AN EXCITING coaching clinic will be hosted by the Coffs Harbour Baseball Association on Wednesday.
Baseball NSW high performance coaches Grahame Cassel and Gary Everson will visit Coffs Harbour to run the coaching clinic for T-ball and junior players at the Stadium Drive fields from 9.30am-12.30pm.
Cassel is a long-time presence on the Australian baseball stage, having played for NSW in the Claxton Shield in the 1980s, winning the Golden Glove Award as the best fielder of the Claxton Shield.
Cassel also played for the Sydney Blues and, after playing, was the pitching coach for the Sydney Blue Sox in the revived ABL. In 2011, he was voted into the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame.
Last year he joined the Baseball NSW team to help implement the high performance program bringing vast baseball knowledge both on and off the field to the organisation as well as running the Baseball NSW Blue Sox Academy.
Everson is one of Australia's most experienced development professionals, starting at Baseball NSW almost 25 years ago, covering many roles and in particular, junior development, schools and coach accreditations.
Both Cassel and Everson have a wealth of knowledge about baseball and their visit will be extremely beneficial for the Coffs Harbour Baseball Association junior players taking part in the clinic.
The clinic will benefit players to develop personal skills with flexibility based on their individual needs.
For anyone interested in playing baseball and for non-members who would like to attend the clinic contact president Bill Langler on 0421553093.
