Climate sceptics to hold court

WATTS Up With the Climate? will be the title of a lecture by climate commentator Anthony Watts and other speakers at Coffs Harbour on July 2.

Mr Watts is a US television meteorologist who now operates a weather technology business and runs an internet blog.

He will talk about advance results on his Surfacestations project and how the official temperature record is unreliable.

He will also tell his personal story of conversion from alarmist to sceptic in the 1990s.

Other speakers on the night will include Australian scientist David Archibald, the author of Solar Cycle 24, on the role of the sun; why he believes the world will continue cooling, and; why carbon dioxide will not make a detectable difference.

David Stockwell, a former US scientist now living in Queensland and author of the book Niche Modeling, will present the “known knowns” of climate change. The lecture will be held at Club Coffs on West High Street from 7pm.

Entry is $20 and bookings can be made on 6652 4240.
