IT'S time to unleash your inner nature photographer - applications are open for the 13th annual Marnie Yeates Nature Photography Competition.
Organised by the C.ex Coffs Camera Club, the competition is open to amateur photographers of the Coffs Coast region from Red Rock to Scotts Head and west to Dorrigo and Glenreagh.
The opening night is Friday, September 4, and the exhibition at the Bunker Cartoon Gallery will go for six weeks until October 17.
Prizes include C.ex club $100 gift vouchers and $250 in open orders donated from Fletchers Fotographics and the overall winner will have their name engraved on the Marnie Yeates trophy. The winning photographs will be determined by three experienced nature judges.
C.ex Camera Club Committee member, Lindsay Metcalfe, recommended entrants "think outside the square to catch the judge's eye".
"Take the time to go out there and look for a shot that might be a bit different," Lindsay said.
Applicants can enter two photographs for the competition, with at least one guaranteed a place in the exhibition.
People of all ages are encouraged to enter, for students under 19 years old there is a special youth encouragement award to be won.
The competition is named and run to honour the memory of Marnie Yeates, who was an active member of the C.ex Coffs Camera Club.
Entries close Friday, August 14. Entry forms are available from Fletchers Fotographics in the Coffs Harbour City Mall or from www.cexcoffscameraclub. weebly.com.
