MOOLOOLABA ironman Kendrick Louis doesn't often swap his boardies for a suit and tie.

But when you are one of Australia's most eligible bachelors, you can wear what you like.

Kendrick, 23, will join the latest crop of spunky contenders in the 2013 Cleo Bachelor of the Year search.

The 50 finalists of the prestigious competition were announced on Monday, showcasing some of the most attractive, successful and lust-worthy men in the country.

The calibre of the latest crop of bachelors is top notch. They include sportsmen, entrepreneurs, models, farmers and television hosts.

"It was funny when they asked me to do the photo shoot in a suit," Kendrick said.

"I thought for sure they would want me in some of my racing gear or my shirt off.

"I don't get to wear suits often so although I was out of my comfort zone a bit, I just went for it. It was really fun."

Kendrick is not the only Sunshine Coast hunk spruiking for votes.

Noosa adventurer John Cantor believes he can bring some diversity to the Cleo search.

Having endured severe health issues in trekking solo through Alaska's Brookes Range last year, the 27-year-old will do it all again in December with a fellow trekker.

"When I first heard I was going to do a photo shoot for Cleo, all I could think of was how white and emaciated I was from the trip," he said. "I had a bit of training to do to get ready."
