Clearing the way on Pacific

IT’S set to be much safer driving in Nambucca, thanks to vegetation clearing on the Pacific Highway.

Work to clear vegetation between Cedar Creek Bridge and Valla Beach Road at Nambucca Heads is set to begin on Monday to remove the risk of vegetation falling onto the road and improve visibility for drivers.

Clearing and trimming work will begin at 7.30am and will run daily until 5.30pm for about three weeks, weather permitting.

As part of the work it will be necessary to restrict traffic flow at times with traffic controllers in place to manage the traffic during the work.

“There will be noise associated with this work, however, every effort will be made to minimise the impact on local residents and businesses,” the RTA said in a statement.

“Motorists are asked to comply with all temporary signposting and traffic control measures and to proceed with care through its worksite.”

For more information contact the RTA’s traffic information line on 132 701.
