Classics geared up to give bidders a thrill
THERE will be a welcome buzz surrounding Aylward Auctions today as a Hudson Hornet and other automotive treasures go under the hammer.
One of the stars of the show will be a 1926 Chevrolet SK Tourer 4 Door which appeared on long-running period television show The Sullivans with its distinctive yellow interior.
As part of a deceased estate, the auction will also feature tools, automotive memorabilia and parts.
Most of the auction's lots come from the home workshop of a long-time car enthusiast who amassed an array of automotive signs in good condition and tools including a metal lathe, pedestal drill and hand tools.
Also on offer will be a 1927 Nash Ambassador 6 cylinder, a 1924 Dodge Roadster 2 door, a 1926 Dodge under restoration and a 1957 Hudson Hornet V8.
Other vendors will offer a 1939 Buick 8-40 Sedan and a 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 featuring the original interior in very good condition.
Most of the vehicles are very rare in Australia and an auction of them is likely to attract keen interest.
