Cinema celebrates

THE Friends of Sawtell Cinema are throwing a party - and you're invited!

In the aftermath of the March 31 floods, people who love the Sawtell First Avenue Cinema have decided to get behind it and ensure its longevity.

And so this Friday, the newly-established Friends of Sawtell Cinema group will officially be launched - and what better way to do so than with a premier screening of a film?

Everyone is invited to join cinema owners Col and John, along with their cinema-loving patrons, for drinks and nibbles from 6pm.

Then at 7pm, the screening of the highly-acclaimed film The Reader, starring Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes, will begin.

After the movie friends of the cinema can sign up - annual membership is $50. This entitles you to discounts on all tickets, regular e-newsletters, special screenings and events for

cinema-lovers.

As numbers are limited (due to flood-damage reducing the number of seats) the cinema is asking that you pre-book in person at the cinema. Tickets are $12.

If you can't make it but are interested in finding out more, contact FOSC at PO Box 444, Sawtell, NSW 2452, or fofac@live.com.au or visit www.firstavecinema.com.au.
