Churches welcome all to range of Christmas masses
IN TRUE Catholic tradition, St Augustine's is celebrating Christmas with morning masses at Coffs Harbour, Woolgoolga and Glenreagh, and a special Christmas Eve Midnight Mass.
Parish priest Fr Paul Winter said Christmas Mass was always a beautiful and holy event to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
"Christmas Mass is always popular and we welcome all members of our community to come to celebrate this most incredible and holy feast day," Fr Paul said.
The Christmas Eve Mass at 6pm at St Augustine's Church is very popular with families with younger children and the mass at 8pm will also feature an organist and choir.
St Francis Xavier Church at Woolgoolga will have mass at 6pm on Christmas Eve.
The Midnight Mass features the men's choir singing Christmas carols.
On Christmas Day, masses will be celebrated at 8am at St Augustine's Church, Coffs Harbour, and at 9am at St Francis Xavier Church, Woolgoolga. People can also attend mass at St Paul's Church at Glenreagh on Christmas Day at 10.30am.
"Christmas is an incredibly joyful time and our Christmas masses, in particular, are uplifting as we have our music groups and choirs.
"Christmas can also be a difficult time for people who are alone or away from their loved ones and the Christmas masses remind us that there is always light."
