Christmas gifts are a shoe-in

OPERATION Christmas Child is looking for 'elves' to help fill, not stockings, but shoeboxes.

And there are only four weeks left, before the boxes have to be packed into the 'sleigh' to fly away.

The world's largest Christmas project, Operation Christmas Child, provides children caught up in war, famine, natural disaster or extreme poverty with a shoebox full of gifts, showing they have not been forgotten.

The national shoebox collection begins on October 1 and ends on October 25.

Regional co-ordinator Judy Burrows said people of all ages could get involved, as well as churches, schools and community groups, bringing joy and hope to children in desperate situations.

Any people, or businesses interested in sponsoring some boxes or filling a box can contact Judy Burrows on 0438-289070 or pick up a brochure of instructions from Lifehouse Care Bargain Centre in Coffs Harbour.
