Chilly weather greets southwest
THE Southwest was hit with freezing temperatures this morning as the mercury plunged below zero.
Roma felt the brunt of the cool change with the Bureau of Meteorology recording a chilly -2.8 degrees Celsius.
Further west, Charleville residents woke to temperatures of -0.1C sharing the same reading as St George.
Annabelle Ford, from the Bureau of Meterology, said southwest residents were going to feel the cold for the next few mornings.
"Roma will hover around the -1C mark for the start of the week and then warm up a little towards Friday,” she said.
"A cold trough moved through the area yesterday with a dry cool mass behind it bringing cool temperatures.”
"These temperatures will stick around for the next couple of days.”
