A TODDLER has been dragged into the water by an alligator at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Orlando.

Just days after the city was shaken to its core by a mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub where 49 people were killed and were 53 injured by crazed security guard  Omar Mateen, it seems residents will have to contemplate another tragedy.

Local media report that a two year-old child was dragged into a lagoon by an alligator and police are now searching the area and rolled out crime scene tape.

Hotel guest A.J. Jain and his family were visiting Disney from Georgia and said he and his kids were playing on the beach near the scene of the incident earlier Tuesday.

"I'm just here to say a prayer," he said. "I can't imagine what those parents are going through. It's been one tough week in Orlando."

The child's identity is yet to be revealed.
