Christmas cheer from Meals on Wheels

THE 85 clients of Coffs Harbour Meals on Wheels are getting a little something extra for Christmas - a Christmas present.

Each client will receive a piece of a fruit cake, donated by the Coffs Harbour Lions Club and other gifts donated by the Rotary Club's Inner Wheel South Club and Coffs Rotary Club.

Meals on Wheels manager Bronwyn Webber said those gifts included items like packets of biscuits, lollies, bed socks, soaps and more.

“It's a wonderful extra for our clients, most of whom are on their own at Christmas time,” Bronwyn said.

Meals on Wheels will get a special Christmas meal on Wednesday too - a dinner which will include roast turkey, ham, fruit cake and brandy custard.

“Anyone on their own or in need of help, meal wise, during Christmas, can call us on 6648 3600.”

Meals on Wheels clients are “of frail age on their own, or younger people with disabilities”.
