Charity at heart of fun VIEW Club meetings

THE Glasshouse Country VIEW Club may be small on numbers but its members are big on adventure.

The 40 fun-lovers get together for an outing on the first Wednesday and a lunch meeting on the third Wednesday of each month.

Last month, they car-pooled and took a stroll around Wildlife HQ at The Big Pineapple, Woombye, and this month they will spread their wings to Butterfly House at Nambour.

The lunch meetings are held at The Glasshouse Sports Club on Steve Irwin Way. The meetings always include a "trade table” with homemade goodies, raffles and a birthday basket.

The club alternates between having a guest speaker and social days.

Last month, the social day saw experimentation with origami. This month's guest speaker is from Story Dogs.

The club's social calendar also includes a birthday and Christmas Party.

"Most of all, we have lots of fun at all our get-togethers and make good friendships,” publicity officer Janet Kitchin said.

"We are a small club with around 40 members and always welcome ladies to come and join us.

"Our club raises money for the Smith Family and the Learning for Life program at all our functions. We support five Learning for Life students.”
