Gympie Coles eftpos machines back in action

GYMPIE Coles have resolved the issue and the eftpos machines are working.

A COLES media spokeswoman said the store is trading as normal.

Update 1.16pm

GYMPIE Coles cash registers are running but the eftpos machines are still down.

The cash registers were down due to a technical glitch this morning.

A Coles spokeswoman said it was a result of a power surge.

"There was a town wide power surge that happened last night," she said.

"We had a glitch in the server which meant the registers were down."

Despite the registers reopening, eftpos machines are still down.

"We have a team working to have the eftpos machines working as soon as possible," she said.

"We just can't confirm when that will be."

11.40am

IT is pandemonium at Gympie Coles, as their cash registers are down.

With customers opting to go elsewhere to do their shopping, the Gympie Central Shopping Centre Woolworths was in chaos.

One customer, shopping at Gympie Central Woolworths said "there are so many people down here."

"It feels like it is the day before christmas"

More to come.
