Your chance to rap with top hip-hop artist

GROUNDWORKS Youth Services is offering some lucky local men aged 12-24 the once-in-a-lifetime chance to participate in a songwriting workshop with well-known Sydney hip-hop artist Rates.

Rates is a Triple J Unearthed artist, whose YouTube video Nightmare has had more than 700,000 views.

The three-hour workshop will allow 20 young men to explore the art of songwriting with Rates and his live producer Bennie and the Beat, and to learn the latest tricks of the DJ trade with DJ Helmy.

Throughout the school holidays Groundworks is also offering workshops on stencil street art, skate boarding and video art, t-shirt design and marionettes and hooping.

Groundworks will also run girls' empowerment sessions and guys' expression sessions.

All workshops are free but spaces are limited and bookings must be made by phoning 6648 3620.
