Chance to own funky clothing store as owner sells up

ACCORDING to Rachel Bailey, there are so many things in a woman's life that are complicated but fashion is one thing that gives them complete control.

"It gives you that ability to step out of the door and you say 'I look spot on and this is the one thing that's not going to go wrong for me today'," she laughed.

Originally from Darwin, the fashionista has owned pre-loved clothing store Repeat Offenderz for two years.

Repeat Offenderz is a funky store that sells pre-loved, high-end clothes on consignment. It aims to offer ladies access to designer brands and luxury goods, shoes, handbags and new accessories at discounted prices to attain a stylish life.

The store has been running for more than 10 years but because of a new business opportunity, Ms Bailey is selling.

Known for her fun, funky with a touch of rockabilly style, she will soon launch a wardrobe styling consultancy called Savvy Measures.

"Fashion has the capacity to make a woman feel really confident and that makes managing other aspects of life easier," she said.

"I've been thinking about this for a long time but basically over the festive season when you go away and spend time with family, have a break, it really gives you time to crystallise your thoughts."

The new business, which will be launched in Toowoomba and eventually expand to the city's surrounds, is inspired from her time at Repeat Offenderz.

"I'll go to people's homes and conduct a styling assessment and do a wardrobe edit then there's add-on packages like personalised shopping to fill in wardrobe gaps," she said.

"This job has taught me there are lots and lots of ladies who buy and only wear once. Now there's a reason for that; it's because it doesn't suit the person. Then if it's an amazing garment, we'll take it to the tailor and get it altered.

"It's all about education and awareness. There's a hole in the market that needs to be filled."

Ms Bailey wants to see Repeat Offenderz successfully sold and continue to provide something a little different for Toowoomba women.

"Offenderz is for really clever ladies who know they can come here and get something really amazing because the shop's stock is curated for them - that's why it's still standing today," she said.

"It's a great business and people love it. It's got a loyal following and has been around for more than 10 years with different people running it so I'd love this legacy to go on."

Repeat Offenderz at 140 South St, has 50% off.
