Coffs centre needs volunteers

NOW is the time to fulfil your new year’s resolution and take an active voluntary role in the community.

The Woolgoolga Neighbourhood Centre is looking for volunteers to work in reception.

Interested applicants will be able to use and build on their administrative, communication and reception skills, all while working in a friendly team environment in this vital community centre.

Volunteers will also be able to complete an interpersonal and community services short course, which will start soon at the centre.

The TAFE outreach course is essential for volunteers.

It will give an insight and foundation into the knowledge and skills needed to work in the community services industry.

The course will be held over six hour-long sessions and will start in early February on a Wednesday or Friday morning from 9am. It will cover topics such as networking, media skills, multicultural services, interpersonal skills and the structure of community services.

If you are interested contact the centre on 6654 1598 from 9am to 3pm.
