Chance to learn about volunteering

THEY say many hands make light work and that's especially the case with volunteering.

Sunshine Coast Libraries will host Volunteering Sunshine Coast presentations over the next few weeks to explain the value of volunteering to the community and the benefits to volunteers themselves.

Participants will gain information on the wide selection of volunteer opportunities available on the Sunshine Coast and find out how to get involved.

Volunteering allows people to learn new skills and gain experience, have fun and develop friendships, make a meaningful contribution to better the community, and be rewarded with a sense of purpose, satisfaction and achievement.

The free presentations will be held:

* Tuesday, October 16, 10-11.30am at Coolum Library

* Friday, November 9, 10.30am-noon at Maleny Library

* Thursday, November 15, 10-11.30am at Kawana Library

* Tuesday, November 20, 10-11.30am at Nambour Library

* Thursday, November 22, 10.30am-noon at Maroochydore Library

* Tuesday, November 27, 10-11.30am at Caloundra Library

* Friday, November 30, 10-11.30am at Beerwah Library
