Chance to get to grips with golf

COFFS Harbour Golf Club is offering beginners to the sport the chance of a lifetime to see how they like it.

Club professional Matt Allan is offering a five-week beginner golf workshop for men, to be held over five consecutive Fridays.

Encouraged by the morning-tea program that was introduced recently for women, Allan believes this a great way for men to learn the basics of the game in a fun environment.

“I’m biased when I say that golf is the greatest game in the world but it’s one that everyone can enjoy, whether they’re someone who’s being competitive or someone who just enjoys a social round with mates,” Allan said.

“The game is even more enjoyable when you know some of the basics and that is what we’re offering.”

An introductory afternoon is being held from 4.30pm on Friday, April 29, with the five-week program starting the week after.

New golfers will be given the choice of having their Friday workshop sessions at 10.30am or 4.30pm.

In a special bonus offer to new golfers keen to learn about the game, the club is offering free honorary six-week memberships to anyone who joins the workshops.

Interested players should contact the Coffs City Golf Centre on 6652 3266.
