Challenge riders rolling in

THE challenge has been set, the track marked and this weekend, the wheels will roll.

Bicycles will take over town on Sunday for the BCU Coffs Coast Cycle Challenge.

Coffs City Rotarian Jay Clowes said 200 people had registered for the adults’ 60km and 100km events.

“That’s before we count anyone that registers in person on Saturday or Sunday,” Mr Clowes said.

Online registration for the challenge is via the website, http://coffscoastcyclechallenge.com and will be open until Friday night.

After that, entrants will need to register in person at TS Vendetta, near the Coffs Harbour Jetty, Saturday, 3pm-7pm and Sunday, 6.30am-7.45am.

Entrants in the family ride can also register online until Friday night or in person Saturday or Sunday. Because of the later start time for the family ride, registration will be open to family entrants on Sunday until 9.30am.

“Considering that we’ve got a Roubaix Comp Compact bike to give away as a lucky prize for registered riders, it’s easy to see why we have so many entrants,” Mr Clowes said.

“And with the Coffs Coast Community Circus on site and a display of classic and modern rally cars near the Jetty as part of the festivities, there’s something for everyone.”
