Celebration of a short life

A RAY of sunshine will be cast over the too-short life of Taleyah MacGillivray with a day of fun for Coffs Coast families.

Taleyah's death in April shocked the region, but friends and family of the toddler want her remembered in a way she would have loved.

In honour of little Taleyah, Crystal, Tia and Craig Robb are organising Fun Day for Taleyah at the Jetty Foreshores on Saturday, June 28.

"For everyone that did know Taleyah, we wanted to celebrate her in a happy way, not in the way she died," Crystal said.

"I think she would love what we're doing."

Fun Day for Taleyah will be a day of joy for families with heaps of activities and prizes on offer.

The day will also be a helping hand for Taleyah's parents Megan Weatherall and Jayden MacGillivray.

"What we're doing is trying to raise some money for these guys, to help with any outstanding costs they have and maybe pay for a plaque as a memorial for Taleyah," Crystal said.

The Coffs Coast community has rallied to the cause with an incredibly generous show of support.

"It's been fantastic how much support we've had from so many people in the community," Crystal said.

The enormous generosity of the community means there will be at least three major raffles on offer.

Among the businesses the organisers wish to thank are Xerox Copy Centre, Office Choice, Coffs City Skydivers, Heather and Colin Graham, Carpet Court South, Curious Minds, Harvey Norman, Blush, Egoli, Dolphin Marine Magic, Kennards Hire, Woolworths and Good Guys and many more.

Coffs Harbour City Council is also on board, providing free use on the Jetty Foreshores area and looking after the waste management.
